Hook Up With LEJ!

So you're ready to get involved with LEJ? The first step is to download the LEJ Youth Internship Application (PDF).

After you fill it out, get it back to LEJ in one of three ways:
  • Bring it to our office at 1329 Evans Ave. (directions below);
  • Fax it to us at (415) 282-6839;
  • Mail it to us: LEJ Intern Application, 1329 Evans Ave., SF CA 94124.
After we review your application and decide to move you on to the interview round, we will give you a call to schedule an interview.

Directions to LEJ
Take the T to Evans & 3rd, and walk 3 blocks west on Evans. Or you can take the 19 or 44 bus and get off at the Main Post Office on Evans Ave. We are across the street from the main post office.

How To Get a Work Permit
All interns under 18 years of age are required by California state law to have a work permit to work for LEJ. Work permits must be renewed at the start of each school year and at the start of the summer.
To get your work permit, you'll need the following:
  • Your signed request for a work permit, dated within the past 5 days
  • Your Social Security card
  • Proof of age (birth certificate, California ID card, driver's license, or passport)
  • Valid school ID (for current school year), or printout of current school schedule
